Edwardian/Georgian Conservatories

  • Elegant and practical, the clean lines of our Edwardian conservatories are designed to really make the most of the available space and light. Less ornate than the traditional Victorian conservatory, this minimalist choice utilises perfect symmetry to create a bold and stylish addition to your modern or period property.

This is one of our best selling conservatories, combining practicality with a more contemporary twist on period design. The vaulted ceiling creates a sense of space while the combination of traditional style and modern technology makes this an affordable and sophisticated choice.

The use of high performance materials means your conservatory is comfortable year round, while the choice of designs and heritage colours means your Edwardian conservatory makes a real style statement in classic white or the finish you prefer. Edwardian conservatories really optimise the natural light while our high performance glass filters out harmful UV rays to keep you protected even at the height of summer.

What is an Edwardian conservatory?

Also known as a Georgian conservatory, this style priorities symmetry and makes the use of every available square inch of space. Combining a square or rectangular footprint with a flat fronted facade, this style of conservatory is further enhanced by a vaulted roof that lets the sunlight flood in.

If you’re looking for a practical yet stylish addition to your home, a versatile Edwardian conservatory gives you plenty of space to work, entertain or kick back and relax. Why not visit your local showroom and see for yourself?

What is the difference between a Victorian and an Edwardian conservatory?

Both an Edwardian and Victorian conservatory is a stylish choice when you want to enhance your home. Both styles look equally at home in a period or contemporary property and both can be highly ornate with pitched roofs and ornamentation to play up the period charm.

The major difference between the two styles is the footprint. A Victorian conservatory has a classic bay fronted facade comprising three or five facets while the Edwardian conservatory favours a flat fronted appearance that maximises the available space. Both are beautiful additions to your home.

Can I have decorative glass in my Edwardian conservatory?

Yes you can. In fact, decorative glass can really enhance the look of an Edwardian conservatory with its minimalist lines. Which decorative accents you add is up to you, but with our choice of coloured and bevelled glass and leaded designs you can really personalise the aesthetic of your conservatory.

If you love the look of Georgian bars or traditional leading, we can place the bars between the panes making cleaning the smooth panes straightforward. If your conservatory is overlooked, textured glass is a good way to preserve your privacy without compromising the amount of light.

Are Edwardian conservatories practical?

Edwardian conservatories are probably one of the most practical styles we design and build thanks to their symmetrical footprint. You won’t need to worry about getting furniture to fit and you’ll be able to utilise every square inch of available space.

The pitched roof is easy to keep clean and we use a range of different materials that make your beautiful period-style conservatory easy to maintain. If you want to find out more about making your conservatory as practical as possible, contact us today.

Energy saving is incredibly important and so is keeping your fuel bills down. We are continuously looking for ways to make our homes energy efficient and one way is to choose new PVCu windows and doors. Not only will they help to keep your home warmer, they will reduce your energy loss.

Don’t just take our word for it!

Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.
