At Otter Windows, we’re proud to provide the most innovative products to our customers including our high-performance triple glazing.
The most efficient windows on the market, our triple glazed units feature not two but three panes of glass. The layer of argon gas trapped between the layers is particularly efficient at limiting heat transfer. This means that whether you want to reduce your heating bills or ensure peace and quiet, triple glazing technology is a smart investment.
Triple glazing is standard in Northern Europe for its ability to block out unwanted noise and trap heat within your home. Whether that’s heat generated by your heating system or the sun, these thermally efficient windows will maximise energy efficiency by trapping and maintaining that heat within your home, keeping you warm and comfortable in the coldest weather.
Our triple glazed windows are as beautiful and stylish as the rest of our range, with a choice of modern and heritage colours or woodgrain finishes to enhance your home. Installing our high-quality triple glazing combines energy efficiency, savings on your heating bills and beauty in one innovative package.

Does triple glazing make a difference?
Triple glazing is the best performing glazing on the market. As a comparison, let’s look at the U-value of double glazed and triple glazed windows. The U-value measures the amount of heat lost, and the lower the value, the higher the level of insulation.
Double glazing has a U-value of 1.2 while triple glazing has a value of just 0.6, meaning it performs twice as well as double glazing. This excellent performance means you’ll start to see savings on your energy bills.
How long does triple glazing last?
At Otter Windows, we supply all our triple glazed products with a 10-year manufacturer’s guarantee but your windows are likely to last much longer. A lot depends on the installation, the weather, the area where you live and whether you keep your windows properly maintained. Our professional installers will be happy to give you tips on how to keep your windows in the best condition.
As a rule, triple glazing units will function well for 20 years and up to 35 years. It’s worth checking them regularly and keeping the frames clean to make sure they perform as they’re supposed to.
Is it worth replacing double glazing for triple glazing?
Triple glazing is a great investment to make and can add value to your property. Making the switch is not so straightforward if you live in an urban area or your double glazing is relatively new, as you may not see a quick return on your investment.
If you’re building a new home or you live in an area that experiences sharp temperature drops, however, triple glazing is definitely the right choice. As more heat is lost through windows than walls, triple glazing is also a good choice if your home has a large number of windows.
What is the difference between double and triple glazing?
The main difference between double and triple glazing is the number of panes of glass. Our double glazed windows use two panes of glass with a pocket of dense argon gas between them. Our triple glazed units add another pane of glass and another layer of argon which acts to prevent sound and cold air from entering your home.
You’ll need to weigh up the aesthetics of your windows versus their insulating properties. Both double and triple glazing are one of the best home improvements you can make, so talk to our experts about what’s right for your home and budget.
